A NBA Champion and rebounding legend, Rodman was known for his hard-nosed play for the Michael Jordan era Chicago Bulls. During an interview with CBS Sports, Rodman claimed that current NBA superstar, LeBron James, could never be compared with "His Airness" because Jordan never would have sat out games due to rest.
"You know what, LeBron's doing one thing that I always said that Michael Jordan never did. He never rested. He played every game. LeBron has the position to do this now because they need him. The league needs him, and that's why he's doing all this crazy s--- now, like bitching and complaining and all this bulls---," said Rodman.
Rodman claimed that the NBA in which he played was tougher than it is now and that James has it much easier than Jordan had it. Rodman pointed out that Jordan was the league leader in scoring for ten years straight if one excludes the years he missed while pursuing a baseball career.
"Back then, when he was getting his ass whupped, I mean beat down every game, and then when he played against us [referring to when he played for the Detroit Pistons], he said -- guess what -- 'I gotta go back in the gym,'" said Rodman of Jordan. "And he got tough. He got tough, and he got great. And greater. So that's it."
