Casey Anthony spoke with the Associated Press about the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.

Anthony is a Florida woman who was accused of murdering her daughter in June of 2008. When Florida authorities found the dead body of Caylee Anthony not too far from the family home, they were unable to determine her cause of death. Anthony faced trial in 2011 in a highly publicized murder case in which prosecutors tried to prove that Anthony had killed Caylee and dumped her body in an attempt to cover up her misdeed. Amthony spoke to the media for the first time about her ordeal.

"I'm still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened," lamented Anthony. "Even if I would've told them everything that I told to the psychologist, I hate to say this, but I firmly believe I would have been in the same place. Because cops believe other cops. Cops tend to victimize the victims. I understand now I see why I was treated the way I was even had I been completely truthful."

Anthony went on to speak about the strategies employed in court by her lead defense attorney, Jose Baez, which included the defense that Caylee had drowned and that Casey had simply tried to cover up the accident.

"Everyone has their theories; I don't know. As I stand here today I can't tell you one way or another," said Anthony. "The last time I saw my daughter I believed she was alive and was going to be OK, and that's what was told to me."
