After revealing a controversial prank that she once played on her bodyguard, Demi Lovato has apologized. She made the initial revelation on Twitter after a fan asked her to name the funniest prank that she'd ever pulled.

"I hired a lady of the night in Vegas and sent her to Max's hotel room to surprise him," she said. "She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his 'area' and he freaked the f*ck out hahahahaha."

Many people called the prank "sexual assault" and "sexual harassment," and Lovato quickly took to Twitter to address the situation following the backlash.

"For all of those coming at me rn, listen to the lyrics of Warrior and maybe you'll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake," she said. "Of all people I know about sexual abuse. You don't have to educate me."

Lovato's bodyguard Max also made it clear that he did not find the prank harmful in any way.

In response to Demi apologizing to anyone offended, Max tweeted, "I WAS NOT."

"Really! You guys all need to 'Grow Up'!" he said. "It was a joke and a fun prank from someone whose incredible to work for and with. And does everything she can for her fans, family and friends. Love you @ddlovato."
