Tuesday morning Eve Jeffers Cooper better known as the Grammy Award-winning rapper 'Eve' was introduced as CBS'sThe Talk'snew permanent co-host.

Over 400 potential hosts vied to fill the spot left open by longtime host Aisha Tyler. But after guest hosting at the end of October, Eve proved to be a top contender for the seat and was chosen as the show's fifth co-host for season eight.

"It is a new career move for me," Eve toldVariety,"I'm just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself."

Back in June, Tyler announced that she would be leaving theThe Talk after six years to focus on her acting career. She currently is a series regular onCriminal Minds, hosts The CW'sWhose Line Is It Anyway?,and lends her voice as Lana Kane for FX'sArcher.

Unlike ABC's Daytime talk showThe View where panel hosts change regularly,The Talkhas been hosted by the same panelists-- Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood-- for several years.

"The great success ofThe Talkis due to the undeniable chemistry and bond of friendship between the hosts,"said CBS' executive daytime VP, Angelica McDaniel toVariety,"Eve is an accomplished and dynamic performer, musician, wife, and stepmother who fits in seamlessly, while also adding a new layer to the show as we continue to evolve season to season."
