Not long after his meeting with Kim Jong Un, U.S. President Donald Trump wasted no time hitting back at Robert De Niro, who has been publicly slamming the president over the last couple of days. De Niro went so far as to use profanity during Sunday night's Tony Awards.

"F--- Trump," De Niro shouted before introducing Bruce Springsteen. "It's no longer 'Down with Trump!' It's just 'F--- Trump!'" After the crowd gave a standing ovation, De Niro flexed both of his arms.

On Tuesday afternoon Trump responded via Twitter, calling De Niro"a very Low IQ individual," who had "received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies."

"I watched him last night and truly believe he may be 'punch-drunk,'" added the president, who made the tweets on his way back to the United States from Singapore.

"Wake up Punchy!" he ended.

After posting about De Niro, Trump tweeted positively about his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

"Great progress was made on the denuclearization," he wrote.

Trump's tweet about De Niro is not the first time he called someone a"low IQ individual." In June of last year, he directed the same insult toward Mika Brzezinski, the co-host of Morning Joe on MSNBC.
